Oprah Winfrey dit qu’une fois, elle n’est pas allée à une fête de Noël remplie de stars parce qu’elle se sentait « trop grosse » pour montrer son visage.
La magnat des médias a parlé de son parcours de santé lors de l’épisode inaugural de mardi du « The Jamie Kern Lima Show »… rappelant les moments où elle s’est sentie freinée par la perception du public quant à son poids.
Oprah dit qu’en 1988, elle a été invitée à Don JohnsonLa fête de Noël de… un gros problème pour elle à l’époque, étant donné qu’il jouait dans la série télévisée à succès « Miami Vice ».
Elle dit que l’invitation est arrivée alors qu’elle reprenait beaucoup de poids qu’elle avait perdu grâce à un régime liquide… et qu’à 157 livres, elle se sentait « trop grosse » pour aller se mêler.
Oprah avait perdu 67 livres et en avait fait tout un plat dans son émission… en roulant dans un chariot rempli de graisse pour illustrer combien de poids elle avait déchiqueté.
Mais elle dit qu’une fois qu’elle a recommencé à manger des aliments solides, le poids est revenu rapidement.
O dit qu’elle a pris 10 kilos en une semaine en 1988 et qu’en décembre, elle avait trop honte pour être vue lors d’événements hollywoodiens… comme la fête de Noël de Don.
Oprah se souvient également avoir été la cible de grosses blagues pendant 25 ans… affirmant que l’un des moments les plus blessants s’était produit dans « In Living Color ».
